HP Integrity Virtual Server Manager (earlier known as HP Integrity Virtual Machines Manager or VM Manager) is the GUI that you can use from your browser to manage HP Integrity Virtual Machines (Integrity VM) or virtual partitions (vPars) resources. You can use Virtual Server Manager to create, monitor, and evaluate Integrity VM virtual machines and virtual partitions, and to monitor and evaluate data and resources at the level of the Virtualization Services Platform (VSP).

Virtual Server Manager enables you to visualize resources assigned to the VSP or to a specific virtual machine, virtual partition, or virtual switch. For example, Virtual Server Manager provides graphical views of virtual-to-physical network and storage devices so that you can view I/O data, including resource utilization information.

HP Integrity Virtual Server Manager A.6.3.0.91593 includes the following new features:

  • Supports offline vPar migration.
  • Supports guest type conversion (VM to vPar and vPar to VM)
  • Supports online migration of VM guests between servers running Intel® Itanium® 9300 processors and Intel® Itanium® 9500 processors.
  • Supports Dynamic I/O addition to vPar and VM guest.
  • HP Integrity Virtual Server Manager A.6.2.0.90827 includes the following new features:

    • Online memory operations are enabled on active vPars.
    • Supports coexistence of VMs and vPars.

    HP Integrity Virtual Server Manager A.6.1.0.90169 includes support of HP-UX vPars and Integrity VM 6.1 including the following features. It also includes defect fixes.

    • Supports both virtual machines and virtual partitions.
    • Supports Direct Input Output (DIO) feature to provide near-native I/O functionality, manageability, and performance with workloads. A new tab DIO Pool is added to the Virtual Server Manager GUI, from which you can assign DIO resources to the host or HPVM.

    HP Integrity Virtual Server Manager 6.0 includes support of HP Virtual Partitions 6.0 (vPars 6.0) including the following features. The support for both virtual machines and virtual partitions will be available in later releases of vPars.

    • Support for managing vPars.
    • GUI name modified from "VM Manager" to "Integrity Virtual Server Manager".
    • Support for managing GUID ranges. GUID Manager (GUIDMgr) has been integrated with Virtual Server Manager. A new GUID Resources tab has been added to the GUI from which you can manage GUID ranges.
    • Access to virtual and remote console to manage vPars. A new Console tab has been added to the GUI to enable users determine which vPars have configured a virtual iLO remote console or iLO console.
    • Support for AVIO devices. The Storage tab displays AVIO devices attached to the vPars.

    HP-UX vPars and Integrity VM 6.1 Integrity Virtual Server Manager 6.1 manages virtual machines and virtual partitions.
    HP-UX vPars and Integrity VM 6.2 Integrity Virtual Server Manager 6.2 supports online memory operations on active vpars,Virtual machines and virtual partitions coexist.
    HP-UX vPars and Integrity VM 6.3 Integrity Virtual Server Manager 6.3 supports offline vPar migration, Guest type conversion (VM to vPar and vPar to VM), Online migration of VM guests between servers running Intel® Itanium® 9300 processors and Intel® Itanium® 9500 processors, Dynamic I/O addition to vPar and VM guest.

    An older version of Virtual Server Manager is available as part of Matrix Operating Environment for Integrity, which runs under HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM).
