HP OneView media includes the virtual machine appliance needed for you to optimally manage your HP BladeSystem and HP ProLiant rack server environments.

HP OneView uses the virtual machine appliance to deploy, configure, integrate, and update your infrastructure quickly and accurately. This virtual appliance needs to be installed onto a VMware ESXi host or onto a Microsoft Hyper-V host. It allows you to discover, monitor, and manage your HP ProLiant servers which include setup of access credentials, licensing, and HP Virtual Connect capabilities.

Upgrade Paths  

  • Any HP OneView 1.10.x can update to any newer 1.10.x update.
    HP recommends target release 1.10.10.
  • Any HP OneView 1.20.x can update to any newer 1.20.x update.
    HP recommends target release 1.20.05.
  • Any HP OneView 1.10.x can update to 1.20.05, and then to a later 1.20.x future release.

What's New in HP OneView 1.10.10 (update release, August-2015)

This update to HP OneView 1.10 contains several defect repairs. This patch can be applied to any previous HP OneView 1.10 release.

Please note that this is the last planned patch release in the version 1.10.x stream.  Additional patches would be released only if necessary to address critical security vulnerabilities. HP recommends that you update to HP OneView 1.20.05 or higher when appropriate.


What's New in HP OneView 1.20.05 (update release, June-2015)

This HP OneView 1.20.05 update release contains important bug fixes and the security fix for CVE-2015-0235 (Ghost). This release can be applied as an update to any previous release of HP OneView.

This release also includes the security update for the issue referenced in CVE-2014-8730. Several HP OneView partner products are impacted by this change:

  • HP OneView for VMware vCenter versions 7.6 or earlier: Installing this 1.20.05 update impacts HP OneView for VMware vCenter's ability to dynamically detect compliance changes for server profiles. Other features such as GrowCluster are not impacted.
  • HP OneView for Microsoft System Center version 7.5: Installing this 1.20.05 update will impact HP OneView for Microsoft System Center's inventory and alerting features.

If you are using one of the above plug-ins, upldate your plug-in prior to installing the HP OneView 1.20.05 update.

What's New in HP OneView 1.20.04 (update release, May-2015)

This hotfix update can be applied to any previous HP OneView 1.20 release and contains the following enhancements:       

  • Resolves an issue where FCoE frames are dropped due to both Ethernet and FCoE traffic within the HP VC FlexFabric-20/40 F8 assigned to the same priority queue
  • Resolves an issue where concurrent deletions of SAN services can cause aliases that are still is use to be removed
  • Resolves an issue of where deleting a server profile with an attached SAN storage volume will fail.

 

The security fixes for CVE-2015-0235 (Ghost) will be included in an upcoming 1.20.x release.

What's New in HP OneView 1.10.09 (update release, May-2015)

This HP OneView 1.10.09 update contains bug fixes and the security fix for CVE-2015-0235 (Ghost). These fixes will also be included in an HP OneView 1.20x update release to be made available for download in the near future. Until this HP OneView 1.20 update release is available, the upgrade path directly from HP OneView 1.10.09 to HP OneView 1.20 will be unavailable.

Customers on HP OneView 1.10.08 or earlier have the following upgrade options:

1) Upgrade from HP OneView 1.10.08 (or earlier) to HP OneView 1.10.09 now, then migrate to the future HP OneView 1.20.x update release (with security fix for CVE-2015-0235) when it is available.
HP recommends this option.

2) Upgrade from HP OneView 1.10.08 (or earlier) to HP OneView 1.20.x now, then migrate to the future HP OneView 1.20.x update release (with security fix for CVE-2015-0235) when it is available.

Due to the security fixes in this version of HP OneView, the following plug-ins are not compatible:

1) HP OneView for VMware vCenter versions 7.4.4 or earlier

2) HP OneView for Microsoft System Center versions 7.4 and 7.4.1

If you are using one of the above plug-ins, then update your plug-in prior to installing OneView 1.10.09 update.

What's New in HP OneView 1.20 (update release, 17-December-2014)

HP OneView 1.20 is an update release of the converged infrastructure management solution, supporting HP BladeSystem, HP Virtual Connect, HP ProLiant DL servers, and 3PAR StoreServ Storage. This release is available as either an update to a previous HP OneView 1.x release or as a full binary. It contains a virtual management appliance that runs on a VMware ESXi host or on a Microsoft Hyper-V host. The management appliance detects supported devices, recognizes software licenses installed on the managed node servers, and provides appropriate trial use permissions as necessary.

What's New in HP OneView 1.10.07 (update release, 14-November-2014)

This update can be applied to the previous HP OneView 1.10 release (July-2014), or on top of the HP OneView 1.10.05 update release (September-2014).

This update release to HP OneView 1.10 contains the following changes:

  • 3PAR OS 3.2.1 and 3PAR OS 3.2.1 MU1 are now supported
  • 3PAR StoreServ storage pools which do not have a device type set are now supported
  • Updating server profiles which utilize SAN Storage are enhanced, and volume deletions are performed when profiles are deleted
  • Deleting a server profile no longer changes the server's boot settings stored in the BIOS
  • Firmware updates enabled on logical interconnect when in the Inventory state

What's New in HP OneView 1.10.05 (update release, 15-September-2014)

This update can only be applied to the previous HP OneView 1.10 release (July-2014). This update release to HP OneView 1.10 contains the following changes:

  • Allows server profile usage on associated server hardware that has one or more Flex-10 or Ethernet ports mapped to a Cisco Fabric Extender for HP BladeSystem (Cisco Nexus B22 Blade Fabric Extender for HP) through the enclosure midplane
  • Allows for obtaining a logical interconnect support dump that does not change downlink port connectivity
  • Repairs an issue that can lead to an outage for native Fibre Channel connections
  • Repairs an issue that prevents interconnect inventory from being retrieved when Cisco Nexus top-of-rack switches have been added to HP OneView for limited monitoring
